About This Course

Courtroom to Case Management is a practice-centered, self-paced continuing education course on working ethically and effectively with justice-involved clients. It translates court and supervision context into behavioral-health practice without asking the provider to become a lawyer, probation officer, forensic evaluator, or agent of punishment.

The course is designed for professional counselors and is also relevant to substance use counselors, LCAS/CADC candidates, peer support specialists, qualified professionals, therapists, case managers, reentry staff, and court/program liaisons whose work may involve clients affected by arrest, court, diversion, probation, parole, incarceration, or reentry.

Instruction integrates legal literacy, confidentiality and informed consent, mandated-client engagement, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice, Risk-Need-Responsivity, recovery capital, treatment planning, ethical documentation, court communication, referral, and risk response. This training provides professional education and does not constitute legal advice or replace current law, agency policy, professional supervision, privacy/compliance review, or qualified legal consultation.
